First Step
Relationship Education Program
First Step is our two-pronged innovative program focused on healthy relationships. Taught by trained professionals, this program is designed to help our community’s youth and families thrive.
First Step for Parents
We help parents feel equipped to discuss relationships and sex with their children through lifelong conversations while building a strong family connection. We provide parents with the tools to teach their children and teenagers important lessons, allowing their children to then make healthy decisions and avoid risky behaviors.
First Step for Students
Our customizable curriculum can be used in one-on-one or group settings including school classrooms, after-school programs, church groups, and kids’ clubs and may be taught over a series of weeks or months. The program is catered for 4th grade through college-age students with age-appropriate lessons and activities. Topics range from communication skills and decision making to risk avoidance including drug use, alcohol abuse, and pre-marital sex.
First Step focuses on helping individuals recognize and understand their own self worth and value so that they may find confidence in themselves and not in the opinions of others.
First Step is taught by trained individuals who have studied and received their Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) certificates.
